Yesterday, the You Cane Give team took a much-needed day to recharge after several incredibly productive days filled with mobility cane training, disbursement, repair workshops, and promising partnership and collaboration meetingsacross Addis Ababa.
Looking ahead, the team will continue its mission by supporting a local high school for blind students, providing ongoing mobility training. For the first time, these students will also be introduced to the exciting sport of goalball—a game designed specifically for the blind. While a brief demonstration was shared last week, this next phase will allow students to truly experience the thrill of goalball firsthand.
Additionally, our team is exploring extended collaboration with a school on the outskirts of town. We’re discussing opportunities to deepen our partnership during the remainder of this trip—and well into the future.
We’ve also been contacted by several local media outlets in Ethiopia, which could significantly amplify our message and increase visibility for the mission.
