CEO Report: 2025 Year in Review

Friends and Heroes, 2025 wasn’t just another year—it was a symphony of impact, each note played by hands (and hearts) around the globe. The momentum from fall 2024 carried us straight into an incredible outreach in Colombia, masterfully orchestrated by Mark’s tireless dedication. From there, the ripple became a wave: Ethiopia to Kenya to the Philippines, with New Zealand, Tunisia, and Zambia joining the chorus. In each place, blind children, adults, parents, and students received more than mobility equipment—they received keys. Keys to independence. Keys to thriving, not just surviving. One hand holding a cane for freedom, the other grasping a solar-powered audio player full of hope.

Our board saw both goodbyes and hellos this year. We’re grateful for those who transitioned out, leaving footprints we’ll follow. And, we warmly welcome Moses, April, and Eli to the team—fresh perspectives, renewed energy, and hearts aligned with our mission.

The world took notice. Podcasts, radio spotlights, newspapers, magazines—they all helped us tell the story. Our partnerships deepened, our reach expanded, and we now serve **48 countries**. Forty-eight places where darkness is giving way to light, where isolation is becoming connection.

And, here’s the beautiful part: **2026 marks our 10-year anniversary**. A decade. Ten years of canes tapping new ground, of audio players speaking truth into silence, of lives transformed. We’re planning something special—stay tuned. If you’d like to help plan, or if you know event coordinators or others who want to contribute, please share my contact information. Let’s make this celebration as memorable as the journey has been.

I want to especially thank my father, April, and Tracy for keeping our social media humming and our partners informed. This year, many of us faced our own battles—health issues, work pressures, family challenges. Yet, look at what we accomplished together. That’s the power of commitment over convenience.

To our board: thank you. Your service is the backbone of everything we do.

And, to Wendy, my wife: despite physical pain in her hands, she prepared hundreds of canes in impossibly short timeframes. Her love for this mission literally comes at the expense of her own comfort. She is a living picture of sacrifice—and our success is unthinkable without her.

Looking ahead, early-stage initiatives in the Philippines, Kenya, and Ethiopia are taking shape. We’ll keep you posted on how you can join these future trips.

There’s so much more we could acknowledge, so many contributions we could celebrate. But, here’s what we know for certain: the “white cane famine” persists. There are still lives to equip, lives to save.

So, I ask you, heroes and life-changers: **Keep being the heroes you are.** Keep giving people hope. Keep helping them live the lives they were created for.

A moment for reflection: Think of a cane—a simple tool, really. But in the right hands, it becomes a compass, a companion, a bridge between isolation and possibility. What simple tool has God placed in “your” hands this year? And who might be waiting for you to extend it?

Onward to year ten,

James, Founder & CEO

Give Independence. Save a Life.
Right now, millions of blind people around the world are living without the single tool that makes independence possible: a white cane. This is not an inconvenience. It is a crisis. Without a cane, everyday activities become dangerous or impossible. Crossing a street. Getting to school. Going to work. Simply getting home safely. People have died because drivers did not …
