Today, Big Mike spent several hours sorting mobility canes and repacking the tiny car in preparation for the next leg of our journey.
๐ Tomorrow, we visit the next school for the blind, followed by another school the day after. These back-to-back visits will take us to some of the most impoverished areas in the country, where we expect to encounter:
โข ๐ Potholes larger than the car
โข ๐ Cows, donkeys, goats, and pigs roaming the roads
โข ๐๏ธ Mountains of litter and no sewage system
โข ๐ง Children terrified of Sam, the guide dog
Everything that reflects the struggles of a failing society will be in full view.
๐ Bringing Light to Darkness
But amidst these harsh conditions, we also anticipate moments of pure joy as we present the young learners with:
โ๏ธ New mobility canes to restore independence
โ๏ธ Solar-powered audio Bibles for spiritual encouragement
We are preparing for an early night to rest before setting out at first light. This journey is already physically and emotionally exhausting, but the smiles and gratitude of the children make it all worthwhile.
โณ The Toughest Days Are Ahead
The next two days will be the most challenging. These schools are in the worst condition and have the greatest needs.
๐ฌ If we encounter challenges along the wayโwhether itโs police stops or a rogue pig attack (yes, itโs possible!)โrest assured, we will handle it with resilience and humor. Should we face any unexpected situations, Iโm prepared to introduce myself as Jimmy, complete with my best fake American accent.
๐ก Communication may be limited over the next couple of days due to poor network coverage. If you donโt hear from us, please know we are safe and pushing forward.
๐ Keep Us in Your Prayers!
Please pray for safety, strength, and an impact beyond our imagination as we navigate the most difficult part of this journey.
Thank you for your support! ๐
